The word 'brand' originally meant anything hot or burning, like a firebrand. By the Middle Ages it was commonly associated with the process of burning a mark into stock animals, like cows, in order to identify ownership. And the principle's pretty much the same today in marketing. Our job is to identify a brand's unique qualities & position, develop its personality & apply our results on every part of its metaphorical hide, from stationery to signage.
